OC Literacy – Pathways to Learning – is a grassroots, volunteer-driven nonprofit providing free literacy tutoring for adults in Orange County. Community support allows us to keep instruction free, accessible, and responsive to the needs of adult learners.
Why Your Support Matters
Funds support instructional materials, GED/HiSET testing, tutor training, and placement and post-testing to track learner progress. Donations also help cover essential operating costs, including office supplies, bookkeeping, and professional memberships such as ProLiteracy and the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits. As resources allow, funding will support program coordination and the future rental of community tutoring spaces.
Financial Oversight & Accountability
OC Literacy is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our finances are currently overseen by our volunteer board and will be overseen by a finance committee as the organization grows, to ensure responsible stewardship and transparency.
